  1. In an environmental context, the percentage of capture of a substance or material sought to be Reused to minimize its negative Environmental Impact. Recovery Rate can be applied to paper, Biomass Gas, or other materials or substances.
  2. In a financial context, commonly used in credit risk management, refers to the amount recovered when a loan defaults.
  3. The percentage of usable materials in a solid waste stream that is recovered and recycled, as a percentage of the total waste.
