Non-physical resources that can generate short, medium, and long-term value for an organisation. Intangible assets and intangible liabilities are frequently not fully characterised in financial reporting but they can be significant factors in an organisation’s value creation.

Examples of intangible assets include intellectual property (trademarks, patents, etc.).
