Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI)

An index created by Transparency International in 1995 that is used to rank countries according to their perceived level of corruption. The scale ranges from 0 (highly corrupt) to 10 (clean), and evaluates the degree of corruption among members of the public sector (including public officials and politicians) as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys.
