Going beyond net-zero and carbon neutral emission levels, to removing from the atmosphere more carbon dioxide than the particular business, service or product creates. Businesses seeking to achieve a carbon positive position will carry out carbon accounting to identify the carbon footprint that needs to be counteracted in order to achieve carbon neutrality, and then add an additional measure to account for some carbon emitted outside of the business or relevant product line, such as by its consumers.
